Robyn Emery is a PhD student in the M3D Molecular Medicine PhD program at UW. She studies how a person's genetics makes them more or less susceptible to become ill with tuberculosis. She looks at genes that are involved in inflammation, because inflammation is the body's major response to bacterial infections.
